Puppy Love

Our next-door neighbors have 6 adorable English Mastiff puppies, which is our dear Emma's breed. These brindled beauties are so irristable. We've been enjoying their speedy growth over this past month.

If you know anyone looking for a dog, these are a deal (pure-bred & papered), and truly the best breed out there. I love knowing the kids are safe with my gentle giant.

Soccer-licious

I remember playing soccer growing up, and then again in high school. I've always just loved the sport, so when I was asked to play on an indoor co-ed team, I decided to give it a go. It's kinda like being in the middle of a pinball machine. Though I practically hyperventilated, and could hardly move the day after my first game, I'm really loving it. It's great to do something just for me.

Good For Your Art

Some have criticized me in the past for being somewhat of a packrat. This evening I will demonstrate how packing pays off.

I had a random sketchbook. I'd doodle in it, and sometimes my friends would too. As you will note, we were all extremely talented. These beauties date back to 1990.

Judy always had an appreciation for fine art. I wonder what grade her art teacher would have given her for this assignment. . .

Nikki apparently thought I'd end up with a guy with a balloon head.

That's okay. I envisioned her man to be covered in moles!

I Love You-lyssa

Boston had so much fun when his Nyomi was in town from Arizona. I hadn't met Adam and Julyssa's little Dylan yet, so it was great fun. The kids had a blast together (and so did the adults!). We love that Adam and Julyssa are so fun and easygoing, making them some of our fave traveling companions.

Some highlights include: water fun on the lawn, shaft!, kids on the train downtown, Discovery Gateway museum (with one hilarious diaper-blowout!), and furniture-moving madness. Love these guys and of course it's always fun to hang with girls you have a history with.

p.s. Stole this black and white off her blog...I'm never in any photos with my kids. Thanks, Julyss. See more of her lovelies on julyssaschenk.typepad.com

p.p.s Can't believe how much these two have grown since their first cruise together. (Boston 7 months, Nyomi 9 months)

Motown Philly

So a couple months ago I heard that Boys II Men would be here in concert. No one seemed as thrilled as I was. I figured it'd be hard to get down to Orem for the concert on a Thursday night, so I put my excitement on the back burner. One week before the show my hubby surprised me with tickets and plans for his mom to come watch the kids.

I had a blast...and though Trav was really just along for the ride, he had so much fun too. He's a joy to be with–easygoing and supportive. He didn't even mind that I rushed the side of the stage with a bunch of 13-year-olds (where were they really in 1992, but whatever!) to do a two-hand graze of Nathan Morris' beefy chest. Pretty much made my night!

I love these guys. A real class act. Such a fun and funny night.

Unflattery

Per Maren's request, I am extending Unflattering Photo Month. Don't be hating; some of you knew this was coming. All in fun.

Char and I used to never pass up an opportunity to perform cheerleading stunts...

Flock of Seagulls. . .

I wasn't the only one with an awkward pre-teen phase. Go Sara (my now 6-foot sister-in-law)!

Don't laugh too hard, Shannon. The pregnant bladder is a finicky thing!
